Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach aka Pia Romero, is a Filipino-German actress, TV Host, model and beauty queen who was crowned Miss Universe 2015 on December 20, 2015. She is the third contestant from the Philippines to win the title of Miss Universe 42 years after Margarita Moran won the title of Miss Universe 1973.
The glamorous beauty queen confirmed the news through a video on social media. The 27-year-old diva appeared excited while making the announcement. According to a statement published in Philstar, Philippine Tourism Secretary Wanda Teo revealed that Steve Harvey has been signed again to host the pageant. On November 16, 2016, the Miss Universe representatives, DOT and private sponsors, sealed the agreement in an official contract signified the Philippines’ hosting of the 65th edition of the beauty pageant.
