Miss Universe 2015 is considered to be the most controversial beauty pageant to date. After host Steve Harvey mixed up the announcement of winners, he apologized and admitted his mistake. However, some are still disappointed at what happened.

The reaction of Miss Germany Sarah-Lorraine Riek was deemed to be controversial as well. According to Metro UK, Riek could even be “angrier” than Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez. Is she just jealous?

Natalia Cruz of blog Missology asked the German beauty about her reaction to the huge mix up. Riek mentioned that Miss Colombia deserved the crown.

Riek said,

“I really couldn’t believe it. I was so upset because, for me, she was robbed…I was very happy for Colombia, actually. she really deserved it. But I’m very unhappy with the result and so were the other girls, I’m very sorry to say it.”

After Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach was crowned as Miss Universe, several candidates went directly to Miss Colombia. This was evident in an exclusive video taken by Missology. The candidates were even heard clapping and cheering for Gutierrez.

Cruz asked Riek why the girls surrounded Gutierrez and not Wurtzbach. Riek said that “no one” voted for Pia Wurtzback.

“Because no one of us voted for Philippines. I’m so sorry to say that,” she added. When she was asked to elaborate on her answer, Riek refused to give further explanation. However, she admitted that she was happy for Wurtzbach and wished her well.

Many did not find Miss Germany’s revelation very kind, with some even saying she was just being very jealous having not landed any finalist position.

When asked if she were in the situation of Gutierrez, Miss Germany admitted that it would be her “nightmare.”

“To get crowned Ms. Universe and for them to take away the crown, I feel so sorry for her (Gutierrez). But I would have passed the crown and would still be proud to represent my country.”

Meanwhile, Miss Philippines Pia Wurtzbach posted her first photo on Instagram wearing the crown. She  thanked her supporters amidst the controversy.
