Model Miranda Kerr and her Snapchat founder beau Evan Spiegel have bought a lavish two-storied house in Los Angeles, reports Sky News Australia and The Vine. The couple had to fork out US$12 million (about AU$16.3 million) for the incredible house situated in Brentwood, CA, that’s surrounded by greenery.

TMZ reports that the 7,100 square foot gated estate has four bedrooms, six bathrooms, a pool and a gym. The site also mentions that the house was designed by one of California’s famous architects, Gerard Colcord, who had designed over 300 residences in California and remodelled 100.

The house formerly belonged to “Indiana Jones” star Harrison Ford, says Curbed LA. Colcord had begun to remodel the Han Solo actor’s house but died before he could finish. Ford later sold the house in 2012 for US$8.195 million (about AU$ 11.1 million), as mentioned by The Hollywood Reporter.

The 33-year-old model, who has a five-year-old son Flynn with ex-husband and actor Orlando Bloom, insisted that she and her lover Evan lead a quiet sedate life. The Snapchat founder is eight years younger than Kerr. “He’s 25, but he acts like he’s 50. He’s not out partying. He goes to work in Venice Beach, he comes home. We don’t go out. We’d rather be at home and have dinner, go to bed early,” Kerr said about her younger beau as mentioned by Sky News. Sounds like Spiegel is quite the old soul. Having an older lover must have had a calming influence on the young billionaire. The Brentwood home certainly seems like a retirement plan.

Miranda Kerr also talked about how she, along with her beau and her ex-husband and his lover pop star Katy Perry, are like a modern family, helping raise Kerr and Bloom’s son. “Flynn was two, so it was really hard to make the decision, but our son is our priority so you have to come from love. You have to be kind,” Kerr said about Bloom. She added “We had to know the person for six months and feel good about them. Evan met Flynn, so yeah, things are going well. Orlando thinks he’s great. We’re just a modern family now!”
