Fans were all enthusiastic about the reveal of Keiji Inafune’s Mighty No. 9, but after a series of delays that forced the game to be put on hold for the launch, another rumour is spreading that the game will have another delay.
According to a reported Xbox Live listing, the new Mighty No. 9 release date is now on Dec. 2. However, this report is still uncertain if it only applies to the Xbox One version and not the entire release lineup for the other platforms.
When the game was announced at a Kickstarter campaign, it was mentioned that its target release date was in April 2015. Then it was announced that it will be delayed for a February 2016 release, which was followed by another announcement that the game was pushed back to an indefinite date.
The developers reasoned that a lot of heavy work is needed as there are some issues with the code compatibility in the Unreal 3 Engine. They also revealed that it was due to the game’s network and porting issues that the game was delayed, further citing that there were more issues needing to be resolved.
In a previous statement from comcept USA dated last January, the company apologised for the delay on the release of Mighty No. 9 though no dates were mentioned on the supposed new release date.
Looking at the comments on their Kickstarter page, fans are not pleased with the sudden silence of updates as it has already been months without any updates on the release date. Some are already asking to change the original platform that they purchased while some demanded a refund.
Up until today, there are still no updates on the page with regard to any new statements from comcept USA. Hopefully, in the coming days they might make an official statement.
