Megan fox may have lost her desire to act anymore. The former “Transformers” star and sex-symbol has said in a recent interview that she is much more interested in academics, philosophy and Aliens.
“I am actually a much more academic person than anyone would anticipate and I have a lot of interest in things like, aside from theology and philosophy, I am really interested in archaeology and things of that nature,” Megan Fox told Paul Byrnes of The Sydney Morning Herald (SMH).
The actress and Model told Byrnes that she spends a lot of time “learning and studying about these things,” and is hoping to make use of such knowledge to enrich herself as a person and an actor.
The actress, who turned 30 this May 16, is expecting her third child with husband Brian Austin Green. She told Extra that she loves being pregnant; being able to create a human life. But is she done with acting? Not quite. She says she enjoys making comedy and action movies as they excite her.
“It’s not that I don’t enjoy acting or making movies. I have been really lucky in the movies I have made, but there are other things that I love and I am interested in that I want to explore,” Fox said, adding she thinks that 30 years is an age “of awakening for a lot of people.”
It seems that she is doing some soul searching of her own and spending time away from the ills of social media. Fox said that she developed “a very strong sense of self” at the ripe age of 18 and does not feel the need for validation from others.
Most of humanity today, especially after the advent of social media are facing an identity crisis. Constant status updates in Facebook, Twitter, selfies in Instagram have proliferated like a plague; a disease.
There are people who suffer from extreme depression and even end their lives if they do not receive enough validation from their social media “Friends.”
It is wonderful to learn that an actress, who is mostly remembered for her sex siren image, has such a deep understanding of today’s human crisis. “You have to just be centred and maintain a clear bird’s-eye-view of who you are and why you’re here,” she said.
Besides, soul searching, she has other interests as well, namely, Aliens. In an interview on Youtube, notes Paul Byrnes, Megan Fox said “I’m obsessed with ‘Ancient Aliens’” She even downloads it from Netflix for repeat viewings.
“I wanna go and really see the real stuff that they are not willing to show the rest of the world; ‘cos they hide all the real stuff, they don’t show us, because humanity would panic,” she told interviewer Scott Feinberg.
Her latest movie “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows” co-starring “Arrow” actor Stephen Amell releases June 3 in the United States.
