Given its record, Hulk won’t be enjoying a separate standalone movie, but the character of Mark Ruffalo definitely won everyone’s heart in 2012’s “The Avengers.” Now, Ruffalo has shared some great news for Hulk fans. It turns out that the character’s growth in his next three upcoming Marvel movies is going to be something to watch out for.
In an interview with Yahoo, during “Spotlight” promotions, Mark Ruffalo shared, “I’d love to do a Hulk movie, but that’s beyond my control,” he said. “It’s controlled by Universal. Marvel doesn’t even hold the rights to it. So, it’s not on the horizon. And I don’t know if it will be.”
“But we’ve worked a really interesting arc into ‘Thor 3′, ‘Avengers 3′ and ‘4′ for Banner that I think will – when it’s all added up – will feel like a Hulk movie, a standalone movie.”
Taking hints from Ruffalo’s comments, a report on ScreenRant suggests that the recent rumors of “Thor 3” adapting the “Planet Hulk” story arc could definitely have some truth to it. It will be interesting and exciting when Hulk on his own journey off-world meets Thor to take the three upcoming Marvel movies forward.
Talking further about “Thor 3,” Ruffalo shared that he is looking forward to work with the director.
“Taika Waititi’s coming in and I love him. That’s a surprise and it fits part of this Marvel doing the unexpected, casting the unexpected, and now bringing in the unexpected for writer and director. I’m really interested in where that’s going.
“They’re writing the script now. I am thinking about it, I’m doing script meetings and stuff so we’re starting to prep it.”
Amidst all rumors and speculations, one thing is certain, fans will definitely get to know more about Hulk. It looks like the green brute will be playing a big part in “Thor 3,” releasing in 2017 and “Avengers: Infinity Wars” parts 1 and 2, hitting theaters in 2018 and 2019, respectively.
