Rumors have been circulating that the upcoming MacBook Air 2016 will include more powerful specs.

According to Gospel Herald, there is a good chance that the MacBook Air 2016 will run with Intel’s latest chipset, the Skylake processor, or commonly referred to as the 6th gen Intel chip.

Ocean Side Post noted Apple would also probably introduce Force Touch technology in the upcoming 2016 Apple MacBook. Force Touch was already introduced in the Apple Watch when it was launched earlier this year, it added.

The MacBook Air 2016 is also expected to feature a USB Type-C support and Retina Display and will run on Apple’s latest OS X El Capitan. It also has improved battery life and will be even thinner than its predecessor.

The new MacBook Air is expected to come in two screen variants – 13 inches and 15 inches.

“The slimmer design will be enabled by ‘fully redesigned’ internal components across the board and Apple is reportedly now working with its suppliers to develop these new components”, Mac Rumors wrote.

In addition, it is also most likely to have a powerful security system and Touch ID within its Trackpad. This will allow Mac users to make Apple Pay payments online via the biometric scan feature of the laptop.

Meanwhile, MNR Daily noted that Apple is still gearing up to unveil the new gen MacBook Air at its Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) 2016 and will release the device in Spring 2016.

However, there were also speculations that it might be released early next year or on a much later date in order to give priority to other Apple products that have been recently released.

It was previously reported that MacBook Air 2016 would come during Black Friday last month. However, it did not happen and now it is being speculated that it will hit the stores along with the MacBook Pro next year.
