A Queensland cop has been charged with two counts of rape and one count of assault.  He is accused of raping and choking a woman whom he met on a dating website. He has been released on bail.

The 23-year-old constable from the Northern Police Region is arrested and suspended from duty on Sunday. This was after a woman complained about the police constable on Saturday morning.

According to the court statement, the constable and the woman first met through the dating website “Plenty of Fish.”

Allegedly, the Queensland cop went to the victim’s house on the weekend. They agreed to sleep on the same bed there. However, he forced himself on her and raped her twice.  He also put his hand around her neck, trying to choke her, as stated by ABC.

Sergeant Scott Pearson said that the victim pleaded that she did not want to be choked but the offender did not listen to her and replied, “shut up c***.”

The police officer also said that the woman looked like one who “liked to be choked in bed.”

The woman then dialed triple zero and threatened the man that she would call the police. He then swore at her and left, reported 9news.com.au.

Reportedly, the police officer has no previous criminal background and his lawyer also said that he never used a weapon and caused any harm to anyone. His parents were also present during his court hearing.

“The investigation and arrest have been conducted by members of the Ethical Standards Command,” confirmed a police spokesperson.

The Queensland Police Service in its statement said, “In keeping with the Queensland Police Services commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, the Service has undertaken to inform the public when officers face serious allegations of misconduct.”

The man will appear in Brisbane Magistrates Court on Monday, reported Mail Online.
