The new trailer for Disney’s “Through the Looking Glass” is finally here. And it comes with a major bonus!
The trailer is visually stunning though a bit dark. It teases of exciting things to come for our heroine, Alice. But then comes the chilling and unmistakable voice of the late Alan Rickman.
Rickman, best known for playing Severus Snape in the Harry Potter films, voiced the Caterpillar in this “Alice in Wonderland” sequel.
In the trailer, he offers Alice some wise words of advice.
“You’ve been gone too long, Alice. There are matters which might benefit from your attention. Friends cannot be neglected,” he said.
According to Teen Vogue, Rickman’s character also tried to “teach” Alice a thing or two in the first film. But his attempts then were in vain. Do you think our heroine will listen to his advice this time around?
“Through The Looking Glass” stars Mia Wasikowska, Johnny Depp, Anne Hathaway, Helena Bonham Carter, and Rickman.
Aside from this Disney adaptation, Rickman has another film coming out soon. The late British actor star opposite Helen Mirren and Aaron Paul in the upcoming military drama “Eye in the Sky.” It is scheduled for a March 11 release.
Mirren recently paid tribute to her co-star in an interview with ETOnline.com.
“He was utterly distinctive, with a voice that could suggest honey or a hidden stiletto blade, and the profile of a Roman Emperor. He was also a great friend, generous and social. He will be very missed by many,” she said.
“Through the Looking Glass” is Rickman’s final project before his death. The actor died on January 14 after a long struggle with cancer. He was just 69.
The film is loosely based on a novel of the same title by Lewis Carroll. It is a follow-up to his other book, “Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.”
Disney’s “Alice in Wonderland” came out in 2010. “Through the Looking Glass” hits theaters on May 27.
