The new LG K8 V pre-order is live on Verizon from June 9. The entry-level smartphone can be purchased at a full retail price of US$144 (AU$194). The smartphone sports a sleek modern design enhanced connectivity options.

Initially, Verizon Wireless announced to offer the new LG smartphone for US$6 (AU$8) per month tariff. Later, the carrier further reduced the monthly tariff rate. Verizon will now offer the LG K8 V for just $3.91 (AU$5.28) per month for 24 months plan. The pre-ordered LG K8 V units will only be delivered on June 16, after the official announcement of the device on the same day.

The Verizon-exclusive LG K8 V features a 5-inch HD (720 x 1,280 pixels) LCD touchscreen display with a pixel density of 294ppi (pixels per inch). The device will run on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system, which will bring in Google Now on Tap, Apps permission and Doze mode.

The all new LG K8 V will be powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core Qualcomm processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM. The device offers 16GB of native storage which is expandable via microSD slot up to 128GB. There is a 2,125 mAh battery cell boasting up to 22 hours of normal usage time and up to 16 days of standby time.

In the camera department, the LG K8 V is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera on the rear panel along with a 5MP front-facing camera. The secondary camera sensor features Gesture Shot technology for capturing perfect selfies.

The international variant of the LG K8 V will enjoy global roaming facilities on Verizon’s super-fast 4G LTE network. The smartphone is “equipped with quad-band GSM and UMTS technology for voice and data support,” clarified Verizon Wireless. The LG K8 V will work in more than 200 countries across the world.
