It was only yesterday that details about the Sony Xperia Z6 flagship device came in and now more information about another premium handset from the stables of LG has surfaced.

It appears that 2016 may witness the arrival of some power-packed flagships and LG G5 may be featured on that list, if the speculations doing the rounds are to be believed.

According to the report on Android Authority, this time around LG G5 may arrive sporting a metal chassis, unlike its predecessor. It is not known what type of metal will be employed but it is bound to give the device a more premium feel and may just silence critics who found  the LG G4 lacking in this department.

While fans may be hoping that LG announces the flagship at IFA 2016 to be held in January, they may have to wait until February 22, 2016 when the MWC kicks-off. As per Know Your Mobile, chances are that fans may witness the launch of the device earlier in the year at MWC, where Samsung may also unveil its Galaxy S7.

As reported earlier, the LG flagship may sport a 5.6-inch True HD IPS display with 3840 x 2160 resolution. This means that the device will boast of a 4K display, which is expected from most of the high-end handsets launching next year.

One of the features that is being talked about is the rumored iris-scanner on G5 which may replace the fingerprint scanner, found on its predecessor. The weight and dimensions are expected to remain the same as the LG G4, while the internals will be upgraded. This includes an 8-core Snapdragon 820 processor with either 3GB or 4GB RAM, under its hood for a much powerful performance. As for the snappers on board, the primary one will be 20MP, while the selfie-camera will be a mean 10MP.

Fans can keep coming back for more leaks, information and details on the specs of the LG G5 and other flagships speculated to arrive next year.
