The month of February holds many promises since some of the most awaited flagships are expected to arrive next month. Added to this is LG G5; it has been added to that list.

Just a day before Mobile World Congress (MWC) kicks off on February 22, LG will be hosting an event.  Speculations are rife that this is when people will witness the launch of the LG G5. As reported by Korea Times, the invitations for the event have already been sent out by the tech-giant.  It appears that it could well be the company’s next flagship, which will be making an appearance there.

As noted by Digital Trends, this move is a far cry from last year when LG had decided to miss the event since the Samsung Galaxy S6 lineup was certain to be garnering all the limelight. This time around, it appears that LG will be announcing its flagship before rival Samsung, brings out its S7 lineup.

As is the case with every flagship device, LG G5 rumors have been doing the rounds for some time now. The handset is rumored to possess everything that fans would expect in an LG flagship 2016 device. LG G5 is expected to house a Snapdragon 820 processor, an 8MP front-facing camera and sport a 5.3-inch Quad HD display. The handset may boast a full-metal body, which will right-away set it apart from its predecessors. It is also rumored to have an Iris scanner on board, a feature which may please many.

Multiple leaks have also suggested that the G5 model may boast of a dual camera arrangement on the rear panel with an 8MP snapper plus a 16MP one. If this doesn’t materialize, then the smartphone may show-off a mean 21MP primary snapper.

There have also been speculations of a “display-within-a-display” feature, as shared by BGR. If this does happen and LG does bring in other neat innovations on the device, it won’t fail to grab anyone’s attention.
