Barcelona will play against Real Betis in their home game as per the La Liga fixture at Camp Nou, Barcelona on Wednesday, Dec. 30, starting 7.30 PM GMT.

As per the Goal reports, Barcelona are set to return for some La Liga action after being hailed as World Champions in Japan beating South American River Plate in the finals of the FIFA Club World Cup at the Yokohama Stadium. The Luis Enrique side clinched the fifth trophy of the year and looks to be in prime form.

There is no better way to finish of the terrific year with a victory in their own backyard in front of the Camp Nou crowd. According to the BBC, Barcelona won the La Liga title, Champions League, Copa del Rey and Club World Cup in 2015.

However, the game is not only about Barcelona returning to action after the Club World Cup Finals. The game against Betis also marks the 500th match of Argentinian ace and the legendary Lionel Messi. The 28-year-old star returned to Camp Nou after attending an award Ceremony in Dubai to feature in the upcoming clash.

Luis Enrique feels optimistic about maintaining their top in the league table. He was quoted as saying, “After watching them train this morning I have every reason to be optimistic.”

“The only important thing is to get three points and extend our lead at the top of the table.”

Betis will find it difficult to ruin the good mood at Camp Nou. They haven’t managed to taste victory in their last outings. However, their away form is impressive which stands at one defeat in eight games, as per reports.

The upcoming month of January features a busy schedule for the Catalonian side as they play a derby against Espanyol and then Atletico De Madrid.
