Kristen Stewart has hinted in the past that she’s going to take a break from Hollywood for a while so that she can enjoy some well-earned rest and relaxation away from the spotlight. “I just worked all year on a bunch of different things. So right now I really don’t want to work for quite a long time,” she explained to E! news at the National Board of Review Gala. “I really really tired myself out. I need a break.”
When asked if she plans to go on vacation while she’s away from Hollywood, she said that there’s no place she’d rather be than in her own home; “Yeah! A vacation in my living room.”
In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Stewart opened up about her career and explained how she’s grown into herself over the years. She credits a large part of that growth to her role in Still Alice, the film for which Julianne Moore won the Academy Award and the Golden Globe for Best Actress last year.
“I trust myself a little bit more,” Stewart said. “When I was a little bit younger, I used anxiety and nerves, which I still have a lot of. It’s just that I’m better at channeling them. I get better every time I do a job. It’s getting more fun.”
One aspect of fame that Stewart isn’t finding fun is the fact that she feels like she as lost her anonymity. “Focus on the fact that you’re stoked ’cause you’re doing the work that you want to do,” she advises other young aspiring actors. “It’s literally mainly just about focusing on what makes you happy. And if losing your anonymity or whatever doesn’t make you happy, then focus on something else.” Stewart says that she can only maintain her happiness when she focuses her attention away from the media, which has helped her learn to cope with the stress of her career.
According to the Daily Mail, Stewart has a very laid back approach for holidays. She just has one rule – she just does whatever she wants on holidays. She confessed to feeling like she was discharged from the movie army as she wraps up a busy schedule.
Stewart has appeared in at least one movie a year since her first TV movie The Thirteenth Year in 1999. In fact, 2006 and 2013 were the only years when the actress was MIA in theatres – and she made up for this absence by starring in a whopping five movies after both those breaks. To put it simply, Stewart works hard, and she’s more than earned a break.
