Is rapper Kanye West dead? Thankfully, he is alive and is just the latest celebrity to be killed off in a mass killing spree that has been plaguing the Internet. Several false reports have come out in the past few weeks about celebrity deaths, and Kanye West has just become one of the targets.

Mediamass reported the death hoax, saying that news of Kanye’s demise came out earlier this week. The whole basis of the hoax is a non-existent Facebook page that is supposedly titled “R.I.P. Kanye West.”

The Facebook page, which could not be searched, was quoted by Mediamass. It allegedly gave the following account of Kanye kicking the bucket: “At about 11 a.m. ET on Monday (September 12, 2016), our beloved singer Kanye West passed away. Kanye West was born on June 8, 1977 in Chicago. He will be missed but not forgotten. Please show your sympathy and condolences by commenting on and liking this page.”

It is unclear if the page nver existed or if it has now been taken down by Facebook admin. However, the report confirms that representatives of Kanye West issued a statement saying that the rapper is alive and well.

This isn’t the first time that a hoax wished Kanye West dead. Back in 2009, MTV reported a similar incident. On that occasion, Kanye reportedly died in a car crash in Los Angeles. His then-girlfriend Amber Rose was the first to refute the false reports. She took to her personal Twitter account to confirm that Kanye was alive and well.

The earlier death hoax caused an Internet frenzy, which led fans to go online to search for more details about the alleged accident. Luckily, the false reports were quickly exposed. This month, similar stories have come out about celebrities like Jaden Smith and Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton.
