Spiderman villain, Willem Dafoe, has been roped in by Zach Snyder to play a mysterious role in the Justice League movie. Ben Affleck first appeared in this year’s Superman v Batman movie where he was seen playing a DC character in the Marvel movie. Dafoe will be the second actor, next year, to play a DC character.
According to the Hollywood reporter, the famous Green Goblin actor will be joining the “Good Guys” in next year’s movie. However, the source notes that the details of his character are being “kept a secret”.
The movie is already in its production stages and Justice League: Part One will hit theatres on Nov. 17, 2017, while Part Two is slated for release on June 14, 2019, writes a Hollywood reporter. Warner Bros. had previously mentioned that the movie would come in two parts and Chris Terrio already wrote the “screenplay” for Justice League.
According to the reports Batman (Ben Affleck), Superman (Henry Cavill), Wonder Woman (Gal Gadot), Aquaman (Jason Momoa), the Flash (Ezra Miller) and Cyborg (Ray Fisher) are the super-powered characters “who must team up to combat a threat beyond each member’s capabilities.”
Earlier in March, J.K.Simmons was added to the cast to play the Gotham City Police Commissioner Gordon. Dafoe will be playing a good character in both parts of the series.
The Cinema Blend quotes, “It’s hard to even guess who Willem Dafoe might be playing Justice League: Part One, though we can reasonably assume it won’t be Green Lantern since Warner Bros likely looking for someone younger.
“However, if the addition of Mera and Commissioner Gordon are any indication, the movie maybe be including supporting characters from most, if not all, of each hero’s personal lives. Assuming that he isn’t an original character, perhaps DaFoe is one of these folks who’s close to one of the Justice Leaguers.”
We can’t wait to unravel more about the movie. Stay tuned for more updates.
