“Jane The Virgin” star Gina Rodriguez has granted a fan wish and let her wear her Golden Globe dress to prom.
Jessica Casanova, 17, had her best senior prom ever over the weekend when she wore Rodriguez’s black Golden Globe gown. The high school senior from Buffalo, New York shared some photos of herself on Twitter wearing Rodriguez’s black Badgley Mischka dress from the awards show last year.

“Gina’s dress made me feel like a princess, and it gave me chills knowing that it was something that came from her heart, and I cherish that very much,” Casanova told E! News. “I wish I could give her a big hug and tell her how much I love her. She will always have a special place in my heart,” she added.
Nathan Cohen, Casanova’s prom date, was also impressed. “Beautiful. Stunning,” he told E! News after he saw his date on the dress. “There are not enough words I could possibly say to show her what [Rodriguez] has done. Thanks to her, I will never forget my night,” Casanova said.
The story of the Gina Rodriguez’s Golden Globe gown began earlier this year. Casanova had tweeted Rodriquez and asked the star if she could wear her navy Zac Posen gown from 2016 Golden Globe. However, the actress told her that she did not own that dress, Daily News reported. She instead offered her 2015 Golden Globe dress. The actress won her first Golden Globe that year for her role on CW’s comedy show, “Jane the Virgin.”
Rodriquez replied to Cassanova: “Where do you live? I only own my first globes dress the one from last year…maybe we can make this happen.”

Gina Rodriguez reached out and worked out the details of the gown shipment with Casanova. This inspired Rodriguez’s fans to push for a “Sisterhood of the Traveling Golden Globes Dress,” which according to NBC News reported.
Meanwhile, “Jane The Virgin” season 3 is expected to premiere this fall on The CW.
