The future of Iron Man 4 remains dim and several theories have been swirling about the superhero.

There have been rumors that Iron Man/Tony Stark will be killed off in either Spiderman Homecoming or Avengers: Infinity War to give way to his replacement.  Robert Downey Jr. will be allegedly replaced by Riri Williams.  Ty Simpkins was also rumored to take RDJ place. However, fans were already reacting negatively since the theories about RDJ replacement came out.

Now, Vine Report wrote RDJ and Marvel Studios failed to reach an agreement regarding the actor’s pay for the fourth installment of the franchise.  Downey Jr. reportedly earned $24 million in Iron Man 3.

RDJ first suited up as Iron Man in 2008. Since then, he quickly becomes world’s highest-paid actor for three consecutive years, from 2012 to 2015.

Meanwhile, Robert Downey Jr. recently offered a little glimpse of hope that Iron Man 4 could still be possible.

The 51-year-old actor shared on Instagram a picture of himself along with some Marvel executives. The photo showed RDJ, director Jon Favreau, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, Joe and Anthony Russo brothers, actor Tom Holland, and celebrity chef Roy Choi. The group is in Atlanta. Three Marvel movies are currently filming in the city – Spiderman Homecoming, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2 and Avengers: Infinity War.  Downey Jr. will appear in both Spiderman and Avengers movies.

RDJ has also teased that Favreau and Choi are working on a new project. Speculations are now swirling around that the new project the group is working on is Iron Man 4. Favreau had directed two Iron Man movies.

Marvel has yet to announce the official statement about Iron Man 4.  Downey Jr. never run out of projects though. Aside from the two Marvel movies, Downey Jr. will star in a third Sherlock Holmes film.

Spiderman Homecoming will swing in theaters on July 7, 2017. Avengers: Infinity War is set to be released on May 4, 2018.
