Apple will soon celebrate its 10th anniversary from the release of the very first iPhone model. The company might be preparing for iPhone 8 by examining more than 10 prototypes.

Since the Cupertino-based company has been successful because of the smartphones, loyal consumers are expectant of the upcoming flagship device. Rumors indicate there might be several huge additions to the new model.

According to GSM Arena, the firm has been examining more than 10 prototypes. Fans could expect the iPhone 8 to have OLED specs, but the company has not confirmed this so far.

However, there could be one major problem regarding the OLED specifications. Sharp, one of Apple’s suppliers, stated on Nikkei (via Indian Express) that the supplier might not have enough resources for production.

The four major suppliers of OLED panels include Samsung Display Co., LG Display Co., Sharp Corp. and Japan Display Inc. Dan Panzica, a supply chain analyst at IHS Markit, seem to agree on the matter.

“The combination of Apple’s stringent quality requirements and the difficulty of producing OLED panels will likely lead to supply constraints,” we quote.

On the other hand, Ming-Chi Kuo, one of the leading KGI Securities analysts, hinted that the company is planning to overhaul the model. First, the mobile device could have two variants: the 5 inch and the 5.8 inch with dual lens camera, as per Gamenguide.

The model could also sport the Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) feature for their Telephoto Compact Camera module (CCM). The 5 inch could have a single-lens camera with the OIS feature and have an Augmented Reality (AR).

Moreover, Apple might be releasing an SDK, so they may create AR-compatible apps for the upcoming models.
