So far the numerous speculations suggest that the iPhone 7 could well be a iPhone 6S clone in terms of design and will only offer minor upgrades from the previous version. However, there has been certain rumors doing the rounds for some time now and many hope it materializes since it’s all about more storage.

For any Apple fan, additional storage is probably what sits at the top of the wish list for the next-gen iPhone.  Earlier last month prolific leaker Steve Hemmerstoffer shared the image of the larger iPhone 7 on his official Twitter account, revealing that the device packs a dual camera arrangement with 256GB storage. This may have probably delighted every fan out there. And now as noted by Forbes, a latest report from “market intelligence firm” TrendForce further strengthens the speculation. Reportedly, the bigger iPhone 7 is said to be equipped with 3GB RAM and 256GB storage.

The TrendForce report, mentioning the 3GB RAM on the iPhone reads, “As the latest generation of mobile DRAM, LPDDR4 will continue to serve the iPhone 7 as it did for iPhone 6s. In terms of memory density, the 5.5-inch iPhone 7 will be the first in series to have 3GB of memory in the form of four stacked 6Gb mono-die modules. The additional memory is used to process the images taken from the dual-camera. On the other hand, the 4.7-inch iPhone 7 will stick with 2GB.”

Furthermore, the report indicates that the 64GB storage variant could well be replaced with a 128GB offering but there is no further confirmation on this front so take this detail with a large pinch of salt. 256GB of storage onboard the larger model of the upcoming Apple smartphone seems likely since the recent 9.7-inch iPad Pro also offers same storage choices. So it would make sense for the upcoming iDevice, which is also rumored to be the iPhone 7 Pro to offer a similar option.
