It is norm for rumours and leaks to increase in intensity once the launch the date inches closer and the iPhone 5se happens to be going through the same page, as the expected launch date looms overhead.

A report from Bloomberg Business brought to light that the 4-inch Apple handset, unofficially being dubbed as the iPhone 5se, may indeed arrive embedded with an A9 chip. It is the same processor found on the iPhone 6S series, but make no mistake not all the glitz and glamour of the 2015 flagship will be following the mini version. As, KGI analyst Ming-Chi Kuo had shared in previous reports that inspite of housing an A9 processor, the 4-inch iPhone won’t extend support for the 3D touch feature.

But, if nothing else the report sure tips the speculations in favour of an A9 chip for the iPhone 5se, as opposed to an A8 chip as certain reports had previously predicted. However, with an A9 processor, the 4-inch iPhone is expected to boast of Live Photos and also arrive with NFC chip for Apple pay, as noted by Phone Arena.

The Bloomberg report also suggests that the iPad Air 3 may hide an A9x SoC under its hood. It is the same chip embedded on the current 12.9-inch iPad Pro. If rumours are to be believed, the iPad Air 3 seems to be packing in quite a punch and fans would expect nothing less from  the upcoming Apple tablet. Previous reports have also hinted that the iPad Air 3 may sport a 4K display and extend support for Apple Pencil. But then again, the much-loved 3D Touch feature may also elude this latest Apple offering.

It is being widely believed that the Cupertino tech giant will be holding an event on March 15 to launch the iPhone 5se along with the iPad Air 3 and new Apple Watch bands.
