With Samsung, LG and other tech giants having enjoyed the limelight at the Mobile World Congress, the rumours mills are now looking ahead and churning out details on what’s to come. It is being widely accepted that Apple is gearing up to launch a 4-inch iPhone, new Apple Watch bands along with a new iPad in March 2016.

Earlier reports have indicated that the Cupertino tech company may be introducing an iPad Air 3, since it’s time the lineup received an upgrade. However, the latest report from 9to5 Mac suggests that Apple is probably gearing up to introduce a 9.7-inch iPad Pro and not an Air 3. Details about the specs have also made its way out. Chances are, the smaller iPad Pro will follow in the footsteps of its elder sibling. Previous report on Bloomberg indicated that the then rumoured Air 3 may house an A9X processor, but it turns out it may well be the 9.7-inch iPad Pro to come powered by the chip.

Additionally, report on 9to5 Mac reveals that the upcoming Apple product will possess “identical features and specifications” as the 12.9-inch variant. With the smaller iPad Pro, fans can expect the upgraded RAM as on the larger model, along with support for Apple Pencil. Other features include the Smart Connector, a smaller Smart Keyboard cover attachment for the 9.7-inch iPad Pro as well as quad stereo speakers. Storage and colour options on the upcoming model will remain the same as the bigger iPad Pro, but the price range will sit in line with the iPad Air models.

It won’t be long before we know for sure what Apple will exactly be unveiling to the world. Reportedly, the new 9.7-inch iPad Pro will be introduced at the March 15 event and may start shipping as early as March 18, which may please may Apple loyalists out there.
