Will Shane Warne join the rest of the contestants in a South African forest as a part of “I’m a Celebrity 2016?” While there were conflicting news reports in the past few days about Warne joining the jungle, Daily Mail has now reported that the 46-year-old international cricket star has indeed signed the dotted line. However, his contract includes a “no eating spiders” clause as the cricketer is a self-confessed arachnophobe. The cricketer has a fear of spiders or other arachnids.

Given the contact, this means that the producers of the show will have to make some menu changes to the Tucker Trials if viewers decide to vote Warne in for those particular challenges. Woman’s Day points out that the news is true because teasers for the upcoming reality show feature one of the mystery contestants as a cricket player.

Shane Warne will join the other contestants in “I’m a Celebrity … Get Me Out of Here!” along with Former AFL star Brendan Fevola and former rugby league international ‘Raging Bull’ Gorden Tallis. News.com.au states that despite consciously creating confusion about his participation, Shane Warne has got a contract in place and a remuneration to the tune of $2 million. According to Daily Mail, this is the highest remuneration any star got during this season. Most of the celebrities are believed to have gotten $50,000 for six weeks shooting.

This is not the first time he was offered a place in the show. The producers, as noted by Woman’s Day, had approached Warne to star in the celebrity episode last year in 2015. However, he skipped the opportunity to see how the show comes about. One of the reasons he took up the offer this year was the fact that last year’s winner, British cricket star Freddie Flintoff, landed several new lucrative new gigs in Australia including a stint on The Project and commentating the Big Bash.
