Rumors that a “Hunger Games” prequel will be made soon have yet to be confirmed. However, actor Sam Claflin, who played Finnick Odair in the movies, still thinks it’s a great idea.

“The great thing about what Suzanne Collins did was to create a world where people want to learn more about it. And I think they absolutely have the platform to do [prequels],” the actor told E! Online. “I think there’s so many juicy elements to this story.”

The film’s star, Jennifer Lawrence, earlier said she does not want to be involved in future spin-offs. Who could possibly replace her? It must be noted, though, that all this is mere speculation. A “Hunger Games” prequel movie has yet to be green-lighted. Lawrence can still change her mind and come back to reprise her role. Or, Katniss might not even be in the prequel. Claflin did suggest the prequel movies could focus on events long before she was born. “I think telling the story of how the Hunger Games first started…is interesting,” he said. “To see Woody Harrelson’s character do his Hunger Games? I think it really really is something that could be done.” However,  the actresses listed below could all still play the heroine for possible prequels. They have all previously auditioned for Katniss. Could they be lucky this time?

1. Hailee Steinfeld

MTV News earlier reported that Steinfeld was considered to play Katniss. “That’s definitely an honor,” she said of the role in 2010.

2. Kaya Scodelario

Scodelario went on to star in another young adult movie series, “Maze Runner.”

3. Emma Roberts

According to, the former “American Horror Story” star once tried out for the role.

4. Shailene Woodley

“Yeah, I definitely auditioned,” she was quoted by as saying.

5. Chloe Grace Moretz confirmed that Moretz also auditioned for the part.
