The much-awaited HTC 10 has been announced by the company. The device, which is also known as HTC One M10, would compete directly with Google Nexus 6P. We have pitted HTC’s handset against the Nexus.
Design and Display
The HTC 10 weighs 161 g and measures 145.9 x 71.9 x 9 mm. It will be available in gray, gold, silver and red. HTC 10 and Nexus 6P shares full-metal unibody design, notes IBTimes.
Whereas, the Google Nexus 6P weighs 185 g and quiet larger and slimmer with dimensions of 159.3 x 77.8 x 7.3 mm. The device comes in three color choices — aluminum, graphite and frost.
The 5.2-inch HTC One M10 sports Super LCD 5 screen and has Quad HD resolution. The Nexus 6P also supports Quad HD resolution and has a larger screen of 5.7 inches.
Chipset, RAM, and Storage
Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset is included in HTC 10 and is paired with 4 GB of RAM. The smartphone offers two different storage variants- 32 GB and 64 GB and allows users to expand the external memory up to 2 TB of microSD card.
The Huawei-made Nexus 6P is powered by Snapdragon 810 chipset, the predecessor to SD 820 SoC, and is paired with 3 GB of RAM. Unlike HTC 10, microSD card slot support is not included but it comes in internal storage choices of 32 GB, 64 GB, and 128 GB, as per GSM Arena.
Camera, Software and Other Features
The HTC One M10 has a 12-MP snapper having features such as like Optical Image Stabilization (OIS), laser autofocus and dual-LED flash. A 5-MP front camera is included and it supports OIS.
The Nexus 6P bears a 12.3-MP camera but OIS feature is not included. However, other features like laser autofocus and dual-LED flash are incorporated. An 8-MP camera is located on the front panel of the device.
Both devices run on Android Marshmallow OS but HTC 10 is customized with Sense 8 UI over the top. Both handsets have front-facing dual speakers, but the BoomSound speakers on HTC 10 does not support stereo output. A fingerprint scanner is included in both devices along with USB Type-C ports.
Battery and Price
The Nexus 6P houses a battery of 3450 mAh while HTC 10 is backed by a smaller battery of 3000 mAh capacity. Both devices support fast charging feature.
The base model of HTC 10 costs $699 (AU$ 894) while the 128 GB storage variant of the Nexus 6P comes with a price tag of $649 (AU$ 830). The other two variant of Nexus 6P: the 32 GB and 64 GB model costs $499 (AU$ 638) and $549 (AU$ 702), respectively.
