It was only a season ago when Asher Millstone (Matt McGorry) was the outsider and the only one not in on the secret. However, after season 2’s events, the character soon became a real part of the dysfunctional Keating team. Now, it appears that Asher has more in store for “How to Get Away with Murder” season 3.

It can be recalled that Michaela (Aja Naomi King) and Asher hooked up that one intense night. She was heartbroken and panicking over Caleb’s disappearance. He was trying to grasp the fact that Bonnie (Liza Weil) practically dumped him. Put both of that in the mix and you get an wild exploration of feelings.

However, what was supposed to be a one-time thing escalated into something more complicated. Michaela and Asher were tempted to create a follow up to their previous encounter. Now, it appears that the story line will transcend next season.

Bonnie-Asher-Michaela and the Inevitable Love Triangle

A recent report from Christian Post suggests that Asher will be the center of attention in season 3. The website relays a report from TV Line where series executive producer Pete Nowalk gave a hint on Asher’s value next season. Nowalk calls Asher “a good boyfriend” and a “generous lover.” These characteristics are presumably the traits that will attract both Bonnie and Michaela to the Millstone boy.

True enough, for fans who have been following the series, these traits expose Asher’s sweet side. Despite his cockiness and tendency to become a nuisance, he has proven that he’ll be there for his woman. At the time it was only Bonnie, but come season 3, things are looking to be more interesting.

Asher, Only Sane Person in “How to Get Away with Murder”?

The “How to Get Away with Murder” season 2 finale dropped some major explosive truths that rattled most of the characters. If one would keep a scoreboard, it can be agreed upon that Frank (Charlie Webber) was the biggest loser of the episode. Namely, Annalise just learned the truth about why she lost her baby ten years ago, and asked Frank to leave. As per Vulture, Frank was smart enough to ditch town.

Meanwhile, all the other characters seemed to be caught in their own problems. Wes (Alfred Enoch) just witnessed his father die. Laurel (Karla Souza) is a mess after realizing Frank is gone. Oliver (Conrad Ricamora) committed what could potentially be the greatest mistake he could do, and Connor (Jack Fallahee) lost his chance of getting away in the process. Michaela just learned he slept–and was in a relationship!–with a killer. Annalise is broken, and Bonnie is torn with the mentor she looks up to and her best friend.

Judging from these situations, it appears that Asher scores the least heartbreak points. This gives him an edge in keeping the team together when the new season starts.

“How to Get Away with Murder” season 3 airs in the fall.
