Sam Frost of The Bachelorrete is moving from the Bachelor Mansion to Summer Bay. Aussie soap Home and Away will be the first acting gig of Australia’s original Bachelorette.

“Sam’s audition blew us away,” a spokesperson told News AU. “There is a very special something about actors, they are born with a gift of [being] able to bring to life words off a page. In joining the cast of Home and Away, Sam will be in great company and is about to enjoy a wonderful phase of her career.”

The casting news comes just a couple of weeks after she was axed from her Southern Cross Austereo role, where she co-hosted an evening show with Rove McManus, at the end of June. The duo’s prime time breakfast show had not generated satisfying ratings and was panned back earlier in January before they were moved to the evening time slot.

Home and Away 2017: The new gig comes just a month after the axing of her 2DayFM Rove & Same radio show.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Frost said she grew up watching the long-running soap and never thought she would one day be a part of the cast. The 28-year-old also insisted she went through the same rigorous audition process as any other wannabe actor.

“I got asked while I was working on (reality cooking show) Hell’s Kitchen. I auditioned against a whole bunch of people and that’s why I thought I wouldn’t get the role,” she shared. “After my second audition, when they finally said, ‘You got the job!’ I screamed. I was so excited.”

There are no details yet as to what her new character will bring to The Bay, but she’ll reportedly begin filming scenes this year for the show’s 2018 return.

The casting news coincides with a happy personal announcement as Frost confirmed she’s found love again with navy diver Dave Bashford, 25. The two have been friends for a while but only got romantic after Sam’s relationship with Sasha turned sour.
