A passer-by noticed a decomposed woman body at Victoria’s Macedon Regional Park. The site is nearby the place where the search for a missing Melbourne mother has been going on since 2016. Karen Ristevski was last seen around 52 kilometers from the spot where the decomposed body has been found.
The woman went missing from Avondale Heights on June 29, 2016, and is yet to be found. The decomposed woman body has been taken for forensic testing to find if there is any connection between the two cases. Karen’s husband Boris Ristevski told police that his wife left home for a walk after a heated argument between the couple over financial matters.
With the forensic test results, the identity and cause of death of the decomposed woman body are expected to be known. A crime scene has been established at the spot and the bushland has been cordoned off. A team of homicide detectives and forensic experts are also present at the scene. According to the reports, a witness who noticed the body saw a man with a shovel at an unknown period ahead of recovering the dead body.
Local resident Ian Flannery told 9News that he “could not believe” that decomposed woman body has been found in the bushland nearby a quiet cul-de-sac in Mount Macedon. “We might get a few walkers, but not many people use this road at all,” Ian Flannery said. “I’m a bit flummoxed. It’s very, very unusual.”

“We haven’t heard anything from the police. Obviously, you fear the worst but we will just have to wait and see if it’s her. It would be a bit surprising because the police told us they were searching in the Diggers Rest area.”
