“Harry Potter” fans were quite thrilled on the news of an eighth book. After the last “Harry Potter” movie took off in 2011, avid fans wanted to know more about The Boy Who Lived. With the news on another book instalment, a report mentioned that the “Cursed Child” was predicted 8 years ago.
As reported on Mashable, a Potter fan named Hank Green made a prediction through a song he wrote entitled, “Book Eight.” He posted the song video on YouTube on July 18, 2008.

The lyrics are as follows:
“I know I’m not the the only one
Who wants to know more about Harry’s sons.
I really do think there’s an
And I think it’s time to put
Fingers to keys.”
According to Mashable, Green’s name rose to popularity after his past “Harry Potter” predictions came true. In 2007, Green had a “pre-final book song” entitled “Accio Deathly Hallows.” In this song, he mentioned that “Harry’s brain [might be] a horcrux.”
The “Harry Potter” fan also predicted “one of the most heartbreaking deaths” in the series. One of his songs go as, “What… if Voldemort killed Hedwig just for yuks?”
After a few years, Green had a song called “Oh, JK Rowling” where he hoped for the author to write another book. Mashable noted that the song became a hit two days before Rowling revealed her next book, “The Cuckoo’s Calling” under her pen name Robert Galbraith.
This morning, fans were surprised with the official announcement of “Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts I & II.” Pottermore wrote that the story will pick up Harry’s life as “an overworked employee of the Ministry of Magic, a husband and father of three school-age children.” His son, Albus, has struggles being a Potter.
Fans took to Twitter to note Green’s prediction of the 8th book which has become a reality. Do you think his predictions are pure coincidence?
