“Guardians of the Galaxy,” now on its sequel, has been creating buzz among social media users and all over the Internet. The newest scoop has it that the movie will be revealing the identity of Star Lord’s real father.

Director James Gunn himself has been responsible for teasing the fans. With his latest interview with Empire Online, the director hinted a scene where the father of Peter Quill, a.k.a Star Lord, will be revealed.

“That’s been part of the plan since the beginning, that’s something I had to work out before we shot the screenplay,” Gunn said. “We wanted to make sure Yondu’s place in everything made sense and it does, so it’s all very specific stuff.”

To which he explained that the movie will not adapt Star Lord’s father who is in the Marvel comics. “It’s definitely not the character who it is in the comics, I’ll say that much,” Gunn briefly stated.

More than that cryptic revelation, the director also teased the fans by uncovering a thumbnail for the upcoming motion picture. it has been reported earlier that it might be Groot holding an unknown creature.

“I’m not going to explain what the shot is – as I said, they’re messy. But maybe you can match the thumbnail to the shot when the movie is released,” stated on his Facebook account.

“Some of them go directly to our pre-visualization team to turn into animated storyboards. And others just stay in their primitive state,” he added.

As for the new characters, Geek reported that Mantis will be joining on the movie. Mantis, to be played by Pom Klementieff is  great martial arts expert with a power of an empath and a telepath. She also has the capability to control plants and vegetation. As of writing, she is the only one confirmed to be part of the film.

“Guardians of the Galaxy” Vol 2. will be out in cinemas on May 5, 2017.
