All is well with the progress of “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” because the film’s final script has finally been completed.

Entertainment Weekly reports that James Gunn, the man responsible for the success of the first “Guardians of the Galaxy” film, announced on Facebook that the script to the sequel of the hit cosmic adventure has been finalized. According to EW, Gunn made the announcement by posting a photo of the script’s cover.

EW quotes the rest of Gunn’s caption as follows:

“Coming to you presently Chris Pratt, Zoe Zaldana, Dave Bautista (Batista), Michael Rooker, Sean Gunn, Vin Diesel.”

Given the meticulousness of Marvel fans, one fan did not miss the fact that Gunn did not mention Bradley Cooper (who plays Groot’s BFF, Rocket) and actress Karen Gillian (who plays Gamora’s half-sister, Nebula).

Although this may create some panic to the viewing public that the scene-stealing raccoon will not come back for “Guardians of the Galaxy 2”, Gunn was quick to explain that he did not mention Cooper and Gillian because both stars were not on Facebook.

Meanwhile, Screen Rant reports that Gunn’s news on the script’s completion was definitely well-received by many. As per the observation of the website, the post by the director garnered as many as 10,000 likes and 500+ comments in just under three hours of posting.

However, although the script’s final draft has been finished as early as now, this does not mean that “Guardians of the Galaxy 2” will get an earlier released date.

SR discusses that completing the script now just makes sense since the “Guardians” sequel is set to begin production this February. More so, Gunn also admitted that though the script is final, he is still set to make some tweaks about the material.

“Guardians of the Galaxy 2”, which stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Zaldana, Bradley Cooper, Dave Bautista, and Vin Diesel, is scheduled for release on May 5, 2017.
