“Grey’s Anatomy” will push through with season 13. Just last February 11, the show premiered with episode 9 after a month-long break.

The second half of season 12 puts Dr Meredith Grey in a life-or-death situation. However, it also brings the chance of a new romance for her.

The show is certainly not slowing things down. Especially with its renewal for a thirteenth season on ABC. TVLine confirmed this early on.

The network also renewed its two other #TGIT dramas, “Scandal” and “How to Get Away with Murder”, the website added.

However, Cinemablend noted that the contracts of its major cast are already up. Would it mean the departure of one of its lead characters?

The show has had a history of famous departures according to The Hollywood Reporter. From Patrick Dempsey’s Derek “McDreamy” Shepherd to Eric Dane’s Mark “McSteamy” Sloan.

To date, only Pediatric Surgeon Alex Karev confirmed his return for season 13. Actor Justin Chambers revealed so via Twitter, TVLine reported in a separate post.

The website also cited Kevin McKidd, Sara Ramirez, Chandra Wilson, and James Pickens Jr. Their contracts also end with season 12.

From another TVLine post, actor Kevin McKidd spoke about ongoing talks for his character’s continued residency on “Grey’s Anatomy”.

McKidd told TVLine, “I don’t see any reason why it wouldn’t happen. I love [the show].”

The actor has been with the show for seven seasons. He’s also directed several episodes, The Hollywood Reporter revealed.

Other TV shows are not as lucky. E! Online recently revealed the names of TV shows that may be cancelled.

“Nashville” and “Agent Carter” might say goodbye to ABC.

On CBS, “Elementary” along with “CSI: Cyber” might not make it.

On Fox, audiences may say goodbye to “Bordertown”, “Cooper Barrett’s Guide to Surviving Life” and “Grandfathered”.

On the bubble watch at NBC are “The Mysteries of Laura” and “Telenovela”.
