“Grey’s Anatomy” may have hurled Callie Torres (Sara Ramirez) and Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) into a bitter custody battle as Ramirez was wrapping up her decade-long stint on the ABC drama. But behind the scenes, Capshaw got nothing but love for her longtime leading lady.

E! News reports that Jessica Capshaw bid her farewell to Ramirez by celebrating her share on the show’s success and wished her luck on her new endeavour.

“Congrats on 10 incredible years! I wish @SaraRamirez the very best & I celebrate what Callie has given to all of us,” Jessica Capshaw Tweeted.

Us Weekly previously reported that the 40-year-old actress left the ABC medical drama after 10 years of playing Dr Callie Torres.

“I’m deeply grateful to have spent the last 10 years with my family at Grey’s Anatomy and ABC, but for now, I’m taking some welcome time off,” she said in a statement. “Shonda’s been incredible to work for, and we will definitely continue our conversations!”

Prior to her departure, Ramirez hinted that she was leaving the show in a cryptic tweet in April. “That’s a wrap for Doctor #CallieTorres #Season13 #GreysAnatomy #ThankYou all for an enriching & unforgettable #Rollercoaster ride,” she wrote.

Grey’s Anatomy creator, Shonda Rhimes, revealed that she “found out [about Ramirez’ decision] maybe three days before” the actress tweeted she was leaving the show, according to TVLine.

Shonda Rhimes also said Callie’s departure “was interesting. It was different because it wasn’t a big, planned thing. I had a different plan going and when Sara came and said, ‘I really need to take this break,’ I was sort of lucky that we had shot the end of the season with her going to New York.”

Meanwhile, Jessica Capshaw will be reporting back to work for Season 13: Her current contract will keep her at Grey Sloan through May 2018.
