One of the popular games among gamers is Minecraft. It was initially started with PC and then moved on to mobile. As Virtual Reality is taking the market by storm, it was only a matter of time that the game made it to this category.

Minecraft: Gear VR Edition shares almost the same as what Minecraft: Pocket Edition has in store. It means that the popular game comes with Creative and Survival modes and skins. In addition, the most important feature, multiplayer, is also included, notes TechTimes.

Since the new edition of the game is made for VR, offering the blocky world will more immersive. That being said, the game gives two viewing modes: a theater view in a virtual Minecraft room and the first-person view. The second mode gives a closer look at their creations.

“Minecraft is a game that you can both figuratively and literally lose yourself in. In fact, my strongest memories of being inside VR are from the time I’ve spent exploring Minecraft on Gear VR,” said CTO of Oculus, John Carmack.

Moreover, the game also works on Pocket version and Windows 10 edition. As the new edition is Gear VR, it supports Samsung’s smartphones such as the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 edge, Galaxy S6 edge plus, Galaxy S7, Galaxy S7 edge, and the Galaxy Note 5, as per Android Police.

Users will require a paired gamepad to play as without it, it would be too hard to build the world and bash skulls.  For which, Oculus recommends the SteelSeries Stratus XL controller. The device can be bought through Amazon for $59.99.
