The “Game of Thrones” Season 5 saw Sophie Turner’s Sansa Stark faced some of the most atrocious brutality at the hands of a major psychopath on the show — Ramsay Bolton (Iwan Rheon).
The track gave Turner a chance to give her best performance ever. By her own admission, the actor has been hated but is now loved by many. With the show moving ahead into Season 6, Turner talking about her character in an interview with Entertainment Weekly, said, “She’s definitely got a fan base now, and they’re rallying behind her.”
Hints were also dropped about what’s in store for Sansa Stark in the upcoming season, given that she has managed to escape from Ramsay’s clutches. In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, writer-producer Bryan Cogman commenting on Sansa Stark’s track said, “I’m very excited by where Sansa’s storyline is going this season, and I think Sophie is doing the best work she’s ever done in season 6.”
Turner shared, “This is the season I’m most excited for. Sansa’s coming into her own and standing up for herself.”
We should probably prepare to fall further in love with Sansa Stark, who will be seen on the run with Alfie Allen’s Theon Grejoy, as noted by ScreenRant. And showrunner Dan Weiss ascertained that Turner will be the one to watch out for. He said, “Sophie really delivers this season. She’s an extremely phenomenal actor, and this year she gets to go to places she’s never gone.”
Stark’s sufferings during Season 5 were definitely hard to watch and with her escaping from the worse, fans will be eager to see where her character leads to. Everyone will surely be rooting for only the best and this would involve her getting revenge from Ramsay as well as capturing Winterfell for House Stark once again.
Well, we are keeping our fingers crossed and a close eye on the calendar as the wait is finally going to be over with the “Game of Thrones” Season 6 kicking off on HBO on April 24, 2016.
