Williams reveals that when she auditioned for the role of Arya Stark, she desperately wanted to have a new laptop. “The thing I was really obsessed about was whether I would earn enough money to buy myself a laptop. My stepdad Gary just looked at me and said ‘I think there’ll be enough for a couple of laptops, Maisie,’” Williams told The Guardian. She got the role at the age of 12. Maisie Williams is now 19.

“Suddenly I could pay for my own dancing lessons and school trips, all those things my mum had always paid for. I was able to help out,” she added.

The young actress also recalled that when she was cast for “Game of Thrones,” she did not know much about HBO. But still, Williams celebrated but she said, “not because I thought, ‘Oh, this could be a really big TV show.’ It was more like, ‘Oh, look! Maisie got cast in SOMETHING!’”

Williams’ added that her character, Arya, has grown so much since the first time she encountered her story.

Meanwhile, when asked by reporters on some information about “Game of Thrones” season six, Maisie Williams replied, “People feel like they want to know what’s going to happen, but they don’t really want to know. They wouldn’t want it spoiled for them. So it doesn’t feel like I’m keeping a deep, dark secret. It feels like, ‘Just wait! It’s going to be so much better with you sitting down and watching it, than with me ruining it for you by explaining it now.’ ”

Yahoo! News reported that the GoT TV series would depart from author George R. R. Martin’s version.
