Kit Harington has revealed how he fell in love with Rose Leslie, who played his onscreen romance Ygritte on Game of Thrones. The star, who plays Jon Snow in the smash hit HBO series, chatted about how “easy” it was to fall in love with the actress.

Talking about his favourite memory from filming season two in Iceland, Kit Harington got all sentimental and cute about how he fell in love with Leslie, as reported by CNN.

“Because the country is beautiful, because the Northern Lights are magical, and because it was there that I fell in love,” he told Vogue Italia.

He then added, “If you’re already attracted to someone, and then they play your love interest in the show, it becomes very easy to fall in love.”

Kit Harington and Leslie, who have been reportedly dating on and off since 2012, went public with their relationship at the 2016 Olivier Awards in London. While the pair worked their way down the carpet together in April, Kit Harington and Leslie seemed happier than ever as they chatted closely and even shared a sweet kiss.

According to People, the duo was clearly smitten with each other as they exchanged smiling glances and giggles in front of the cameras.

Neither Kit Harington nor Leslie has commented on their relationship status, but co-star Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen) seemingly confirmed they were dating when speaking to Entertainment Tonight in January.

“My goodness! You know, we like to spread the love on our show. It’s a beautiful thing,” Clarke sad. “She’s one of my best friends, so it’s good.”

Harington’s beloved character, Jon Snow was brought back to life in the new season of Game of Thrones after a cliffhanger ending in the last episode of season 5.

Kit Harington recently revealed that Leslie was one of the few people he was able to reveal the future of his character.

“I told Mum and Dad straight away,” he said. “It’s Mum and Dad. No one else…well, my girlfriend knew. A few people knew quite quickly. They’re all very trusted people,” Kit Harington admitted during an interview with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.
