With the “Game of Thrones” Season 6 already upon us, everyone is glued to all the drama, scheming and killings of the new season. Fans have also been introduced to the new kid on the show, Lyanna Mormont and she sure captured all the attention even with her minimum screen time.
However, there is still a lot of mystery surrounding the 10-year old character and we are here to help you decode Lyanna Mormont:
Lyanna Mormont is a 10-year old and is the head of house Mormont. The house Mormont is a northern family living on Bear Island.
In the world of television, Lyanna Mormont is the only heir to Maege Mormont. This makes Lyanna the head of the house since Maege didn’t survive her fight for Rob Stark. In the book, however, Maege has many daughters, as noted by The Telegraph.
Lyanna’s character is played by Bella Ramsey, a British child actress.
Lyanna isn’t seen in George RR Martin’s books that the show is based on, however, her response to Stannis Baratheon’s request on the episode has been features in Martin’s latest novel, A Dance With Dragons.
For fans wondering where she gets her name from, it is from Lyanna Stark, Edward’s sister. This signifies where the loyalties of the house of Mormont lie.
There is something about Lyanna’s fiery attitude and Maege’s response to Asha (Yara Greyjoy) in the book on Mormont women being true fighters: “What we are is what you made us. On Bear Island every child learns to fear krakens rising from the sea”.
Other TV Shows
Bella Ramsey has also been signed on to play the titular role of the new CBBC TV show, “Worst Witch.” The show is expected to hit television screens sometime next year, as noted by IMDB.
