HBO fantasy drama series “Game of Thrones” might just be another entertainment piece for many, but it has proven to be a life-changer show for sex worker Josephine Gillan. Wondering how? Here is the story in brief.

Gillan opened up about her unkind life story recently,which landed her on the set of “Game of Thrones.”  The 27-year-old was forced to choose prostitution as her profession at a very tender age.  After being sexually abused and raped by her neighbor and his friend more than once, the young girl was left to deal with a life-long trauma.

News learned the Situation become shoddier when she was sent to 24 primary schools while her mother  fled a violent relationship.  One thing led to another. Her childhood abuse turned her into an alcoholic and drug addict. Later, Gillan started to sell sex by making X-rated movies using the name Sophie O’Brien.

Life has its own ways of serving you happiness.  The fate of Josephine Gillan changed when she noticed an advertisement on the internet on the lookout for young women who were actresses and who would have no problem filming scenes without any clothes on.  Later, it was found out that the ad was for “Game of Thrones.” She applied and got selected for the job.

Gillan expressed:

“They were looking for young women with natural breasts and no tattoos who didn’t mind being filmed naked. So I immediately sent in a picture. They wrote back that they wanted me and I was thrilled because it was an amazing opportunity to do some proper acting. But I had no idea how much it would change my life.”

She applied and got selected for the job.  On Season 2, the wannabe star made her acting debut as novice sex worker Marei. The character was introduced as a sex worker on the show handing out details on orgasm.

Gillan claims that her appearance on the show helped her bag roles in two separate movies. She’s also been hired on for a horror film that hasn’t filmed yet, Cinema Blend reports.

She has also been featured in seasons 3, 4, 5 and 6 and has already been signed for work in Season 7.  You can spot her on the next chapter of  “Game of Thrones” when it airs this Sunday at 9 p.m. ET.
