April 24 is coming, and while a lot of fans are concerned about Jon Snow’s fate, there’s still a lot of uncertainty surrounding Westeros.  Here are some of the burning questions viewers are hoping to answer in Game of Thrones Season 6.

Is Daenerys being held captive?

By the end of season 5, Daenarys (Emilia Clarke) was surrounded by a large Dothraki horde. Although she was the well-respected Khaleesi of Khal Drogo’s clan, Daenarys appeared nervous about her surprise encounter with the Dothraki riders. There are many theories as to why Daenarys dropped her ring during that moment, but a plausible reason is that she wanted to leave tracks in case she need to be rescued. In recall, the Mother of Dragons was supposed to join the other widowed khaleesis in the Dothraki City of Vaes Dothrak. She changed course and left instead. Perhaps they weren’t happy about her departure?

Will we finally know Jon Snow’s real parents?

Much about Jon Snow’s backstory has remained unspoken of. A popular fan theory to answer this is that he could be the son of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark.

According to fan theory, a pregnant Lyanna was hiding in the Tower of Joy in the midst of a war. Her brother, Ned Stark (Sean Bean), fights his way up to Lyanna’s quarters, only to discover that she’s dying in childbirth. She makes him promise to take the baby, a.k.a Jon Snow, as his illegitimate son.

According to Winter Is Coming, the Game of Thrones Season 6 trailer gives a glimpse of the fight in the Tower of Joy. Maybe this season will finally unearth Jon Snow’s parentage.

Is Arya in trouble?

In season 3, Melisandre prophesized that she sees “darkness” in Arya. She also speaks of eyes Arya will “shut forever.” This coincides with Arya’s condition by the end of season 5 where she appears to have gone blind, a punishment inflicted on her by the Many-Faced God for killing Meryn Trant. There’s no certainty as to whether her blindness is permanent or temporary. She might, however, learn a trick or two from Marvel’s Daredevil.

Is Sansa teaming up with Davos?

After escaping Winterfell, Sansa could be heading to Castle Black, where she believes her half-brother Jon Snow might be. At this point, Ser Davos is also in Castle Black so there’s a good chance they could meet. He’s still plotting to eliminate the Boltons from Winterfell and Sansa is gunning for revenge, making their collaboration likely.
