Samsung announced the release of the Galaxy Note 5 & Galaxy S6 Edge Plus at a launch event in New York earlier this month, however, nothing much was said about the release date of the devices in Australia. Awaiting fans would be delighted to learn that the devices are now available in Optus stores.

As reported by Gizmodo, the 32GB variants of both the smartphones – Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus are now available for pre-order at Optus stores. The devices each sport a 5.7-inch screen, 4GB RAM and comes packed with a 3000mAh battery. Each phone also houses an Exynos 8-core processor and boasts of a 5MP front-facing camera and a 16MP one on the back.

The arrival of these smartphones brings the launch date of the Galaxy S7 under the scanner and makes it seem all the more unlikely. The Galaxy S7‘s arrival rumored to be this year-end, may not be happening since the Note 5 and Edge Plus have made a grand entry only now. The speculations should be taken with a grain of salt, but it will be interesting to see when exactly the S7 decides to hit shelves.

The plans on the phones include the Note 5 being available for $65 each month with the $40 Optus My Plan Plus including 500MB data with $25 monthly repayment option. There is a monthly $70 with a $40 Optus My Plan Plus with $30 monthly repayment option for the S6 Edge Plus. A number of different plans can be opted for, depending on the users need.

According to PC Authority, Galaxy Note 5 & Galaxy S6 Edge Plus will be seen retailing everywhere in Australia from September 4 onwards. The price tag on the devices will read $1099 and $1199, respectively.
