We recently informed “Fast and Furious” fans about certain rumors involving new additions to the cast of this much-loved franchise. It is speculated that Paul Walker’s brother, Cody Walker, may be joining the cast of “Fast and Furious 8.”
As reported by Movie Pilot, Cody Walker, who played Paul Walker’s body double in “Fast and Furious 7” after the actor’s untimely death, may be seen playing Paul’s reel brother too. Reportedly, Cody will play Brian O’ Connor’s younger brother who no one ever spoke about since he was thought to have died in a war.
Now, latest reports suggest “Fast and Furious” regulars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Jason Statham and of course Dwayne Johnson may take on two more members along with Cody Walker. The other two speculated to join the “Fast and Furious” team are none other than Academy Award winners Matt Damon and Helen Mirren.
Gibson told Variety, “There is definitely a number eight, yeah. And I want Matt Damon to join us!” And this gave hope to fans that Damon may just be coming onboard to join the “Furious 8” team.
So who know? We may just witness Brian O’ Connor’s baby brother receiving a driving lesson or two from our very favorite Matt Damon. Fans can always hope, right? However, if the military angle turns out to be true, then Cody’s character may just be seen imparting his wisdom in the next installment.
As for Mirren, Vin Diesel sparked off rumors about her joining the team when he took her name during an interview with MTV. He said, “I think everyone should do the franchise. They’ve gotta get in line behind Helen Mirren. She is on the list. Be careful what you wish for, Helen.” And his word could be the ultimate one given that the actor is co-producing the upcoming installments. Keep coming back to this space for more!
“Fast and Furious 8” is expected to hit theaters on April 14, 2017.
