If you are already tired of all the “Frozen” merchandise that you had to buy for your kid, then brace yourself! Disney has announced sequel to this immensely successful movie. “Frozen 2” is said to grace the theaters sometime in 2018.
“Frozen” was a huge success for Disney garnering around $1.276 billion in worldwide collections. The sisters, Anna and Elsa, too became very popular and so, it is expected that the sequel will pick up from where Frozen originally left the sisters and the plot.
John Lasseter, chief creative officer of Walt Disney and Pixar Animation Studios, in an interview to Variety said, “Jennifer Lee and Chris Buck have come up with a great idea for a sequel and you will be hearing a lot more about it and we’re taking you back to Arendelle. We are so excited about that.”
While there are many speculations around the plot of this sequel, what is nearly confirmed is that Olaf might get a girlfriend. According to movienewsguide, Josh Gad, the voice of Olaf in “Frozen 2,” has given some hints that Olaf would be getting a female counterpart. There is no definite name of Olaf’s girlfriend, but it is being rumored that her name will be Eliana.
Christian Today reports that Olaf’s girlfriend is still getting her back story sorted out. Details like how she meets Olaf; whether she is created by Elsa, are still being worked upon. “Frozen 2” will also see a more positive Elsa and the relationship between the two sisters will be the focus of the movie, reports Christian Post. In addition, the film will explore issues relevant to everyone. Despite the reports and theories, Disney has not made any official statement on Olaf’s girlfriend or how her character is going to turn out.
It is believed that the original cast of “Frozen” will reprise their roles with Idina Menzel as Elsa, Kristen Bell as Anna, and Josh Gad as Olaf.
