Is Floyd Mayweather coming back? Is it really happening? Well, let us calm down for a moment and look through the series of events which led us to speculate over Mayweather’s possible comeback from retirement.

As per the Sky Sports reports, a possible Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather fight is on the cards after the “Irishman fuelled speculation a clash is in the offing on his official Twitter account.”

Mayweather may have a perfect 49-0 record, but to come back to the ring is always tempting. What is keeping us more interested is the fact that Mayweather did not rubbish the reports.

Even Mayweather’s father, Floyd Sr, went on to comment on Saturday that the talks have already reached “a very advanced stage”.

“I’m very sure he’ll [Floyd Mayweather Jr] be fighting when it’s time,” Floyd Sr told EsNews.

“He told me he was going to take another fight against some MMA fighter. We don’t care about that man, we’ll beat the hell out of that man. I haven’t seen the guy but all I got to do is take a good look at him and I can tell you my son can whoop him. He’s dead. He’s a dead man.

“I thought that’s what they’re going to do. I don’t know when it’s going to come round but it will be pretty soon. It won’t be that long.”

According to the Fox Sports news, Mayweather walked away from the “sport of boxing” after his points victory against Andre Berto in Las Vegas last September.

There was a potential development over a “cross-sport summer showdown” between McGregor and Mayweather, but UFC president Dana White quickly “shot down” all rumours.

“And as far as I knew, Floyd is retired,” White said. “He’s been on a worldwide vacation and hasn’t even been thinking of fighting.”

There is no official word yet from either side. Probably we should wait for Mayweather’s comments before coming to any conclusions.
