Barry Allen has been the lone speedster in Central City since “The Flash” premiered two seasons ago. Will all that change when the show’s third installment premieres? Will Jesse Quick appear again next season?

The second season of “The Flash” ended with Jesse Quick heading back to Earth-Two with Harrison Wells. Will she really stick around Central City now?

According to, Violett Beane, who plays the female speedster, isn’t going anywhere. Her time with CW’s “The Flash” will not end anytime soon. However, she kept mum when asked what role she would be playing exactly.  “I know I’ll be back,” Beane confirmed in an interview with TV Line. “But I don’t know if it’s with or without powers.”

Her character was a mere mortal without powers for the duration of season 2. But fans think this might all change soon. Before the show’s last installment ended, Barry Allen tried to simulate the “accident” that turned him into the Flash.  However, the speed force wave he created swept through S.T.A.R. Labs, where Jesse and Wally were staying.

Fans think that one or both of them would turn into their “super” counterparts because of this. They speculate that Jesse will turn into Jesse Quick. Wally, on the other hand might just emerge next season as Kid Flash. However, these have not been confirmed yet.

Beane herself, though, wants her character to gain her super powers soon. “When Jesse got hit, I was like ‘It’s happening! It’s happening! There was the spark when she got out of the coma,” she explained.”But… it didn’t happen, and I was like, ‘No!’ I’m very excited [to play a speedster], and would love for it to happen early next season.” She hasn’t entirely given up hope, though.

“With the whole Flashpoint, anything can happen, right?” she admitted. “It’s literally open to any different kind of false reality… She could be Earth-One Jesse, she could be a speedster.”

Will Jesse Quick gain her powers next season? Or will she remain a mere human? Fans might have to wait for “The Flash” to return on CW to find out.
