Descendants of The Sun has finally concluded and fans are still smitten by Kang Mo Yeon and Yoo Si Jin’s love story. While fans may choose to binge watch the first episode to the last to relieve the romance, here are 5 drama series that could help you survive your DOTS withdrawal.

The Innocent Man

This one’s first one the list because it stars none other than Song Joong Ki. This 2012 release was Song Joong Ki’s last drama before he enlisted in the military. The plot is different from Descendants of the Sun, and Song Joong Ki plays the bad boy character quite convincingly.

In The Innocent Man Song Joong Ki plays Kang Ma Ru, a promising medical student. He gets his heart broken by his first love, Han Jae Hee (Park Si Yeon) who replaces him with a rich CEO. Years later, Ma Ru dates Eun Gi, a rich heiress, to get back at Jae Hee only to find out that Eun Gi has fallen deeply in love with him.

That Winter, the Wind Blows

At the time of its airing, That Winter, the Wind Blows was the top drama in terms of rating. It’s final episode scored a nationwide rating of 18.2%. According Straits Times, Song Hye Kyo described her previous roles “reserved.” Indeed, her character in this tear-jerker is strikingly different from her bubbly personality in DOTS.

Oh Young is a young heiress who is becoming visually impaired. She lives a lonely life and her father is gravely ill. Oh Soo is in great debt, so he pretends to be Oh Young’s long lost brother of the same name. When Oh Young discovers he is not the brother he’s been searching for, their fate has become intertwined and they find themselves in love.

The Heirs

According to Korea Portal, Descendants of the Sun screenwriter is known for reusing actors she’s previously worried. In The Heirs, you’ll find a familiar pretty face.

Kim Ji Won’s character in The Heirs is worlds apart from her role as Yoon Myeong Joo in Descendants of The Sun. In The Heirs she plays Rachel Yoo, the arrogant heirs of a clothing company. She’s a clingy fiancée to Kim Tan (Lee Min Ho) and a snotty bully to Cha Eun Sang (Park Shin Hye).

Jeon Soo Jin, who plays Daniel Spencer’s wife Ri Ye Hwa in DOTS, also stars.
