This is not the first time that members of Fifth Harmony have done solo projects. Camila Cabello did a collaboration with Shawn Mendes for the song “I Know What You Did Last Summer.”

However, her move was questioned by some Harmonizers, causing a backlash. Some accused Cabello of calculating her plans for a solo career.

“They turned me (doing the song) into a conspiracy theory. We literally just wrote a song backstage & it ended up becoming something awesome,” she told Seventeen Magazine, quotes Inquistr. “It wasn’t a career move that I carefully planned out,” she added.

Cabello even told Latina Mag months ago that they are working on a new album. “You’re going to be hearing new music very soon, and that’s that,” hence the release of 7/27.

Rumors about other members going solo popped up on the web as well. A video of Lauren Jauregui doing a cover of Lady Gaga’s “Speechless” and “Paparazzi” surfaced on the Internet.

Moreover, Normani Kordei was also said to be leaving Fifth Harmony. However, she said that the girls are meant to have their separate careers when the time is right.

“In the beginning, we all had intentions of pursuing solo careers. I’m still an individual, as well as the others, meaning we have slightly different visions and aspirations,” Kordei told Cliche Magazine.

Fifth Harmony dropped their album on May 27, which carries the hit single “Work From Home.”
