Rumors of possible “Fast and Furious” spinoff which may either feature Vin Diesel or Paul Walker still continue.

Although NBC Universal Vice-Chairman Ron Meyer confirmed that Walker will not be seen in the upcoming eighth installment of the series, the speculations that he will reprise his role via CGI still live on.

Vin Diesel earlier hinted that “Fast and Furious” franchise may not end after the upcoming trilogy concluded and teased of possible spin-offs and prequels in the future.

“We’ve written out story lines for various characters. We’ve been playing with it for a long time. It’s a very rich property and we’re committed to treating it with a lot of class.” Diesel told Variety last month.

However, Diesel did not mention who among the franchise characters will take the standalone films.

Master Herald noted that there have been reports indicating that the first spin-off could feature Dominic Toretto, Diesel’s character in the series.

Many are also hoping for Walker spinoff. Although it will be more challenging to do than a Diesel standalone movie, fans would certainly be thrilled to see the late actor again in the big screen.

Walker played a major role as Brian O’Conner in all the “Fast and the Furious” movies until his tragic death in 2013. Paul’s brother, Cody Walker, acted as his body double in “Fast and Furious 7.”

If the producers decide to push through with the CGI effects to bring back O’Conner, undoubtedly it will going to be a huge task for the effects team, Ecumenical News noted.  But this could also mean a better spin-off for the franchise.

Let us know which spin-off would be best – Vin Diesel or Paul Walker?

Meanwhile, “Furious 8” is set to hit cinemas in April 2017.

Apart from Diesel, other cast members who have signed on for the eight instalment include Tyrese Gibson, Ludacris, Michelle Rodriguez, and Dwayne Johnson. Jason Statham, who played the main villain in “Furious 7,” will reprise his role in the upcoming sequel as well.

The film will be directed by F. Gary Gray and will be set in New York City.
