Australia’s entry to Eurovision 2016, Dami Im, has things going for her. She is currently the fourth favourite to win the song competition. Her “Sound of Silence” has been considered as a polished, modern power ballad and a very strong entry to the competition.

“X Factor Australia” winner Im was selected during a concert at the Sydney Opera House. She is the second contestant to represent the country in Eurovision 2016 after Guy Sebastian previously landed a fifth place.

Despite her “Face time” controversy, she will take on other contestants in the second semis. According to The Daily Telegraph, Im is one of the bookmakers’ favourites. Betting odds place her in the fourth spot just after contestants from Russia, France, and Sweden.

Her song, “Sound of Silence,” was written by Sydney-based DNA who were also behind Delta Goodrem’s “Wings.” The song is a power ballad which will surely climb the charts and won’t be out of place at the top. Metro explains that the Sia-esque ballad is thoroughly polished and modern. No wonder Australia is looking to climb higher this year than before.

According to Unicorn Booty, the song is a winner all the way. The publication reveals that Dami Im slayed the song with her mid-tempo banger, her video, and the lyrics. “Sound of Silence” starts with “Growing tired and weary, brown eyes / Trying to feel your love through face time.” The lyrics of her song are all about love and longing. They resonate with the listeners and remind them of that someone who is not in their life anymore.

Dami Im can be seen wearing an amazing wardrobe in the straightforward video. The visuals focus on the contestant and there is a bare-chested man in the background. According to The Daily Telegraph, even though “Sound of Silence” is not heard much right now, everything will change when it gets the right amount of publicity.

Wishing Dami Im all the best as she gears up for the second semis!
