Manchester United will host FC Midtjylland in the 2nd leg of the UEFA Europa League at the Old Trafford stadium on Thursday, Feb. 25, starting 8 PM GMT.

The United are already trailing by one goal and will bank on their home support to turn Thursday’s result in their favour. They already lost to the Danish side 2-1 last week as Man Utd will play to avoid a “humiliating” exit from the Europa League at the hands of Midtjylland, notes Four Four Two.

Hoever, Man Utd revived some of their form back as they secured a convincing 3-0 victory against Shrewsbury Town, last Monday.

Manager Louis Van Gaal was quoted as saying, “I have congratulated my players, I was very pleased but now we have to beat Midtjylland.

“It is also possible to beat Midtjylland but it is not easy because they are very organised and we saw that in the away game.

“Everything is possible and we are still in three competitions. It is a big game because it is a chance to qualify for the Champions League next year, but we have to win a lot of matches of course.

David De Gea would return to join the squad, as per the People’s Person. De Gea wasn’t named in the squad for Monday night’s FA Cup match against Shrewsbury Town and that gave us a clue about his fitness. When Van Gaal was asked to give a progress report on De Gea’s injuries, he said, “That’s true. We have to wait and see if he’s available for Thursday.”

Manchester United were left with only one fit goalkeeper, Sergio Romero. He replaced the 25-year-old De Gea at Midjylland last week.

Midtjylland coach Jess Thorup isn’t taking Thursday’s clash lightly. “We haven’t achieved anything,” he told BBC Radio 5 live. “It was only the first game and although we got a victory we know it will be a slightly different game at Old Trafford.

“We know we will be under a certain pressure from the fans and it will be the first time a lot of our players have played in a big stadium like Old Trafford.”
